What is Non-Profit Housing?
Non-profit housing is built from the ground up by the Métis community, for our community. Dedicated to providing affordable housing, these organizations operate independently from the market rent sector. In addition to housing, they also partner with cultural events and coordinate with local food hamper programs, further strengthening their commitment to the community.
Governance and Operation
The governance of the Lloydminster Métis Housing Group Inc. is overseen by a seven-member Board of Directors, which is responsible for developing policies and procedures that guide the organization. While the Board provides strategic direction and serves as a liaison with the community, it does not engage in the day-to-day operations. The operations are managed by Sandra Brown, who handles the day-to-day activities and reports directly to the Board. Sandra, with the support of a dedicated staff, ensures the smooth running of the organization in alignment with the policies set by the Board.
